Illinois 8th Congressional candidate Mark Rice is noting the sense of pessimism expressed by Americans in a recent poll when it comes to the quality of life expected for the next generation. This concern arises amid an uncertain political and economic climate.
“This is why I’m running for Congress, it’s about our children and the next generation,” Rice said on Facebook.
“Things in DC might be a mess now, but with leadership using common sense, peace through strength and the American interests restored vs corrupt bureaucrats… we can overcome. —-> Help us in our fight for the people in IL8th congressional district in 2024.”
Rice’s comments come in response to recent polling data. He linked to the results of an NBC Poll conducted Nov. 10-14 in which registered voters were asked if “Life for our children’s generation will be better than it has been for us.” Only 19% of respondents said they were confident it would be as opposed to 76% who said they were not confident in that statement.
Apart from his reaction to these sentiments, Rice also brings a wealth of experience to his campaign. Rice, a Texas native who has resided in Illinois for 35 years, is an executive in the energy sector, currently serving as the CEO of Energy CX for the past 15 years. Under his leadership, Energy CX has become a leader in providing energy solutions nationwide, employing a team of 70 professionals. Key focus areas of Rice’s campaign include economic growth, fiscal discipline, tax relief, immigration reform and border security. Rice’s campaign emphasizes his commitment to representing the best interests of district residents, positioning him as a unifying force among constituents, according to his website.
Mark Rice’s campaign targets the 8th Congressional District, a region with a diverse demographic makeup. The 8th Congressional District covers northern Cook County, northern DuPage County and northeast Kane County. It is currently held by U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL).
