ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Mark Rice, Republican candidate for Illinois’ 8th Congressional District, announced today that he has officially signed the U.S. Term Limits (USTL) Congressional Term Limits Pledge, affirming his commitment to challenging the culture of career politicians in Washington.
Rice joins a national movement led by U.S. Term Limits (USTL), which is the largest grassroots organization in the country dedicated to enacting term limits at every level of government. USTL’s goal is to protect democracy by ensuring Congress reflects citizens, rather than political elites.
“Voters are exhausted with career politicians who put their own power ahead of the people they represent,” Rice said. “Signing this pledge is my commitment to fight for a Congress that works for the people again—not for lobbyists, special interests, or insiders. Washington needs fresh faces, real accountability, and leaders who remember who they work for.”
The USTL pledge supports a constitutional amendment limiting Members of Congress to three terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate.
“In Illinois and across the country, families are demanding change,” Rice said. “The only way to break the cycle of gridlock, corruption, and self-dealing is to impose real limits. I’m proud to join this movement, and I’ll fight for this amendment every day I’m in Congress.”
