Mark Rice, the Republican candidate for U.S. House Illinois District 8, is set to compete against incumbent Democrat Raja Kirshnamoorthi in the forthcoming November general election.

“Rice: ‘Spent tonight in Bloomington with Tom Holman,” said Rice, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress, Illinois Eighth Congressional District, according to Facebook. “The discussion at hand was the border crisis, outright illegal migrant invasion of our country that the crooked Biden Administration unleashed on America day one. The fake incompetent border czar Kamala Harris, the now impeached derelict Alejandro Mayorkas… and open borders traitor Joe Biden… these Three Stooges can deny it, but they are working in unison to sabotage this country and America sees it.”

Rice recently attended an event at the Bloomington DoubleTree hotel, where he addressed the issue of border security. Among the speakers were Tom Holman and Darren LaHood, who emphasized the importance of securing borders. “That’s the test of a man they can knock us down and they’ve been doing that since the Biden administration got in office and we’ve had enough. Enough is enough. We’re pulling ourselves up. We’re going to take this country back,” Rice said in a video attached to a Facebook post.

In another Facebook post, Rice continued his discourse on border issues. “The people who crossed the border, millions, are unvetted. But most troubling…the people who didn’t want to get caught (you know the people who don’t want free ride to Chicago, other cities, money, etc.) those who passed freebies are trouble,” he wrote.

In a video accompanying his post, Rice shared details about his discussions with Holman that lasted into the early hours of the next morning. The main topic revolved around immigrants crossing the border undetected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. “There’s close to two million people that they call ‘gotaways.’ These are two million people that did not want to get caught…For what reason would they not want to get caught now after smuggling fentanyl in – that could be one of them, but another is that they’re terrorists,” Rice stated.

Currently serving as CEO of Energy CX, Rice has resided in Illinois for 35 years and under his leadership, Energy CX has gained national recognition as a leading provider of comprehensive energy solutions. With a team of 70 professionals under his command, Rice’s experience in the energy sector has given him a deep understanding of the economic landscape. His website underscores that his congressional bid is aligned with his commitment to address the concerns of the 8th Congressional District and challenge what he views as a corrupt administration.

The 8th Congressional District, which covers northern Cook County, northern DuPage County, and northeast Kane County, is currently represented by U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.). Krishnamoorthi was first elected to Congress in 2016 and is now serving his fourth term as Illinois’ 8th District U.S. Representative.
